This Standard applies to all work within LU owned, managed or occupied premises and mobile units.
This Standard applies to all organisations and individuals in occupation of, control of, or concerned with the management of LU premises and rolling stock or access thereto.
The term, 'premises' within this standard is deemed to have the same meaning as that in The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (or any later version of these Regulations). For London Underground this means any non-domestic premises to which London Underground, its agents, tenants or suppliers has a maintenance liability. This includes station buildings, including any tenancy, tunnels, depots and depot buildings, permanent way, sub-stations, land, rolling stock and any plant or equipment that may be installed on or in LU premises
Purpose
The purpose of this Standard is:
• to ensure the risks associated with asbestos containing materials (ACMs) are managed safely in compliance with current legislation, approved codes of practice (ACoP) and LU policies.
• to allocate the role of the duty holder as defined by the current asbestos regulations.
