This procedure is capable of detecting the following defect types:-
- Horizontal defects
- Star cracks from bolt holes
Purpose
This procedure defines how to inspect a bolted IsolierstoB IVB 30° scarf joint for rail flaws using NR approved ultrasonic equipment to prevent broken rails.
