This standard specifies the ultrasonic inspection procedure to be applied on running lines and sidings:
a) plain line track;
b) switches and crossings (S&C).
Purpose
This document defines the ultrasonic inspection procedures to be used to inspect track as specified in NR/L2/TRK/001 to detect cracks in the rail and prevent rail breaks.
