This document provides guidance on analysis and tools available to assess track geometry trends in order to remediate the likelihood of a speed restriction being imposed.

It is intended to assist with periodic track geometry reviews using a range of available tools to help with conducting a detailed analysis of track geometry trends.

The document should be read in conjunction with NR/GN/TRK/060/PG. This guide provides links to reference material and track geometry reports to support the analysis of geometry trends.

Purpose

This guidance enables identification of potential TSR/ESR risk sites through data analysis so that appropriate remedial or preventative works can be undertaken (short/medium/long-term management) to manage poor track conditions and reduce the likelihood of a speed restriction being imposed.
