This standard specifies the requirements to be met by zinc coatings applied to round steel wire by means of hot-dip galvanized round steel wire with a maximum tensile strength of 1425 N/mm² (MPa). For steel wire with a higher strength, intended for the manufacture of cables, see NEN 3560. For specific applications other requirements can be agreed upon between customer and supplier.
