scope:

The scope of this standard covers all equipment rooms housing NRT assets; this includes Relocatable Equipment Rooms (REBs), co-located equipment rooms or control centres. This also includes vegetation and materials where it might impact upon the availability of equipment or the access and egress of staff required attending site.

This standard does not include Trackside Equipment Housings (TEHs) which are included in NR/L2/TEL/30077.

This standard excludes signalling equipment rooms which may have NRT passive equipment only located within.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to mitigate the risks associated with the condition and environment in which Network Rail Telecom (NRT) assets are housed by mandating checks and methods of recording to allow better visibility and rapid rectification.
