scope:
Def Stan 21-24, 21-26 and 21-28 cover the technical requirements for interfacing to current warship combat systems using CSH.
Def-Stan 21-24 Part 5 defines an Ethernet interface between a Host computer and a CSH Terminal Unit which allows a modern member system to avoid the cost of the dedicated Host Adapter Unit required by the DMA interface. In addition, the new Terminal Unit performs many of the CSH specific duties on behalf of the Host.
This part 6 of Def-Stan 21-24 is to be used in conjunction with
driver software which is freely available for certain operating
systems and languages from the Fleet Data Management web site at
www.fdm.dii.r.mil.uk
Use of this document and the Part 6 driver is intended to simplify as far as possible the task of interfacing a modern Member System to the CSH.
