Organisation of this standard
This standard provides requirements and guidance to the structural design of offshore ships constructed in steel.
- Ch.1. 'World Wide Operation' is applicable to any defined environmental condition, whereas
- Ch.2. 'Benign Waters' provides alternative requirements to units intended for operation under restricted environmental condition.
This standard refers to relevant parts of the general standard DNV-OS-C101 'Design of Offshore Steel Structures, General' (LRFD Method). In case of deviating requirements between this standard and DNV-OS-C101, this standard overrules the general standard.
Costal State requirements may include requirements in excess of the provisions of this standard depending on size, type, location and intended service of the offshore object.
