scope:
Purpose.
To establish policy concerning the joint training of U.S. personnel assigned to NATO organizations and the NATO Defense College. Title 10 United States Code (USC) section 153 (a) states that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) is responsible for formulating policies for the joint training of the Armed Forces of the United States, and for formulating policies for coordinating the military education and training of members of the Armed Forces of the United States.
Applicability.
This instruction applies to the Joint Staff, Services, National Defense University (NDU), NATO organizations, USJFCOM, and the USEUCOM J1 NATO Manning Division (ECJ1-N).
