scope:
Purpose.
This instruction establishes policy concerning the joint orientation training of U.S. personnel assigned to North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) organizations and the NATO Defense College. Title 10, U.S. Code, section 153(a) states that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) is responsible for formulating policies for the joint training of the Armed Forces of the United States and for formulating policies for coordinating the military education of members of the Armed Forces of the United States.
