This part of IEC 404 specifies the methods of measuring the d.c. magnetic properties of magnetically soft materials in a closed magnetic circuit using either the ring or the permeameter methods. The ring method is suitable for use with laminated or solid ring specimens as well as ring specimens produced by sintering.
