scope:

This instruction applies to all Navy NW capable commands, activities, units, or forces, and to all commands, activities, units, or forces involved in the NWTI process, including: the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) staff; Commander, United States Fleet Forces Command (USFLTFORCOM); Commander, Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT); Director, Strategic Systems Programs (DIRSSP); and Program Executive Officer, Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons (PEO (U&W)).

Purpose. To promulgate policy for the Department of the Navy (DON) Nuclear Weapons Technical Inspection (NWTI) and for nuclear weapons (NW) readiness certification, decertification, and audits of Navy NW capable units; and to conform with reference (a). This instruction has been substantially revised and should be reviewed in its entirety.
