This International Standard defines the symbols and gives descriptions of the dimensions of bolts, screws, studs and nuts for use in the appropriate product standards and drawings.

NOTE 1 The figures of the fasteners in this International Standard are given only as examples.

NOTE 2 In addition to terms used in the three official ISO languages (English, French and Russian), this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Swedish; these are published under the responsibility of the member bodies for China (SAC), Germany (DIN), Italy (UNI), Japan (JISC), Spain (AENOR) and Sweden (SIS), and are given for information only.
