scope:

This standard covers the structural expansion joints supplied to Network Rail by Vossloh under product approval certificate number PA05/04511.

This standard;

a) explains the use structural expansion joints;

b) provides guidance on the design and installation of structural expansion joints;

c) describes the maintenance requirements of structural expansion joints.

This standard applies to those who specify, design, install and maintain structural expansion joints.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to provide requirements and guidance on the design, installation and maintenance of structural expansion joints on Network Rail infrastructure to control primarily the risk around the track system buckling.
