Introduction

This amendment specifies the WirelessMAN-Advanced Air Interface, an enhanced air interface designated as "IMT-Advanced" by the International Telecommunication Union-Radiocommunication Sector (ITUR). The amendment is based on the WirelessMAN-OFDMA specification and provides continuing support for legacy subscriber stations. As of the publication date, the current applicable version of IEEE Std 802.16 is IEEE Std 802.16-2009, as amended by IEEE 802.16jTM-2009, IEEE 802.16hTM-2010, and IEEE 802.16m-2011.
