This specification shall apply to all protective treatments for application to new work on Railtrack infrastructure and for the maintenance of existing Railtrack infrastructure.

This specification includes requirements for materials intended for application by airless spray, brush or roller to be used as priming, undercoating and finishing coats for Railtrack infrastructure, together with sealants and ancillary materials.

This specification excludes requirements for powder coating materials intended for application using electrostatic techniques.

This document specifies requirements for materials intended principally for protective treatment, but such materials may also be used for decorative purposes.

PURPOSE

This specification details the performance specifications and recommended methods of test for materials to be used for the protective treatment of Railtrack infrastructure.
