Publication Date: 20 June 2019
Status: active
Page Count: 43
ICS Code (Rubber): 83.060
scope:

This Standard specifies the storage, conditioning and test conditions (temperature/humidity/time), and marking, preparation and dimension measurement methods of rubber test pieces for use in physical tests. Special conditions, applicable to a particular test or material or simulating a particular climatic environment, are not included, nor are special requirements for testing whole products.

In this Standard, rubber is used as a general term of vulcanized rubber, thermoplastic rubber, raw rubber and unvulcanized rubber (compound).

NOTE 1 Annex JA summarises test items, measuring items for evaluation and outline of test required in physical tests of rubber.

NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 23529:2016 Rubber-General procedures for preparing and conditioning test pieces for physical test methods (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.

WARNING 1 Persons using this Standard should be familiar with normal laboratory practice. This Standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this Standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices.
