PURPOSE

a. Manual.

This Manual is composed of two volumes, each containing its own purpose, and reissues DoD 7730.47-M (Reference (a)). The purpose of the overall Manual, in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5124.02 (Reference (b)), is to implement the policy in DoD Instruction 7730.47 (Reference (c)) and to assign responsibilities and prescribe procedures for managing DIBRS.

b. Volume.

This Volume provides instructions for creating DIBRS offense information including the State, offense, property description, and prison facility codes and the data element dictionary.
