Scope.
This specification covers quenched and tempered very high hardness (VHA) wrought steel armor plate for lightweight armor applications for ordered thicknesses from 0.098 inches (2.5 mm) up to an ordered thickness of 0.630 inches (16 mm), inclusive (see 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3). The major intent of VHA is an armor appliqué.
