PURPOSE.
This Instruction establishes policy for the administration and publication of Coast Guard Directives in accordance with Reference (a). Specifically, this Instruction provides policy for the publication of a Commandant Instruction (CI), ALCOAST and ALCOAST Commandant Notice (ACN). Additionally, this Instruction outlines the Coast Guard Headquarters interface with the U.S. Department of Defense Issuance (DoDI) review process and describes the Coast Guard role on the Joint (Multi) Service Directives Working Group.
