scope:

This procedure applies to:

a) the communications engineering content of all schemes proposed to be implemented by, or on behalf of, any Network Rail Directorate

b) proposals for temporary works associated with such schemes

These procedures do not apply to:

i. normal day to day maintenance work

ii. feasibility studies and other preliminary designs

iii. work carried out under emergency conditions

iv. assessments of existing installations and equipment

Purpose

To define procedures for the application of Railway Group Standard GC/RT5101 "Technical Approval requirements for Changes to the Infrastructure" to Telecommunications Schemes and Services.
