This Network Rail standard specifies the process to be used when a telecommunications (telecoms) disconnection is required to Network Rail telecom assets or on any other equipment that can affect operational telecoms equipment. This process also applies to "At Risk" equipment that might be affected by work being undertaken. The requirement for notification in the Weekly Operating Notice (WON) is also included if applicable.
This standard applies to all staff involved in planning and approving disconnection/ "At Risk" work activities on telecom bearer circuits and systems.
Disconnection of individual telephone instruments and circuits as specified in NR/GI/E041 (NR/L2/SIG/10064) are not within the scope of the standard.
Purpose
This standard specifies the process to reach a clear understanding in applying for and agreeing the method of handover and handback of safety critical circuits to minimise the risk of train delay and train performance.
