Scope and Applicability.

This instruction is applicable to Navy Reserve personnel requesting recall to, and serving on, temporary active duty orders funded by RPN in the Reserve Component (RC).

Purpose.

To issue guidelines for the administration of the Reserve Personnel Navy (RPN)-Funded Definite Recall Program. Major revisions to this instruction include incorporating the Navy Reserve 3-Year Recall Program and the Reserve Component/Reserve Personnel, Navy (RPN)-Funded/Definite Recall Program for enlisted personnel into this instruction. It also includes adjusting the number of years a Service member may consecutively serve on canvass recruiter (CANREC) orders. It updates policies and procedures for strength controls, recall sourcing, and the vetting process. This instruction is a complete revision and should be reviewed it its entirety.
