scope:
This Guidance applies to everyone working at TfL and its subsidiary companies. Additionally, colleagues are responsible for visitors to TfL locations, see 4.5.
Purpose
The purpose of this Guidance is to support Transport for London's Equality and Inclusion Policies and further TfL's commitment to be a supportive employer promoting diversity and inclusion. The aim is to help to equip people leaders and other colleagues to support the needs of employees with certain religious practices in the context of employment and workplace requirements. We recognise that a variety of religions are practiced by TfL employees. Many employees are not familiar with the needs of a religion or belief other than their own. The purpose of the guidance is to set out key principles. However, this subject can be sensitive and complex, and we encourage anyone with queries relating to religious observance to contact their HR business partner in the first instance for further support.
