The scope of the document only concerns the following types of axle counters systems installed on Network Rail controlled infrastructure:
- AzL70
- AzL70-30
- AzL90M
- AzLM
- AzSME
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide a methodology for the demonstration of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of rolling stock with Axle Counters installed on Network Rail controlled infrastructure. Information is drawn from previously accepted safety assessments, which were undertaken to allow for traction and rolling stock to operate over Axle Counters. It also includes work from a German Railway European Working Group, laboratory testing in the UK and an analysis for coupling with the transmission link.
