The contents apply to all persons engaged in the maintenance and faulting of operational telecoms equipment and systems provided solely for operational purposes and also any equipment and systems which are indirectly used for safety related purposes. This includes all network bearer services utilising Network Rail owned infrastructure.
Purpose
This procedure defines the minimum requirements to ensure that the reinstatement of previously working operational telecommunications equipment is tested properly to assure continued safe working when returned to service and that all safety related failures are thoroughly investigated.
In this manner compliance to GK/RT0209 parts D & E will be achieved.
