This standard applies to all kiosks and boxes described in 1.1 above, except as noted in 2.2 below. Included are: track disconnection boxes, combined termination boxes, 10-core boxes, cable termination cases, relay cases, AC main link boxes, trackside kiosks, electric point heater kiosks, transformer cases, condenser cases, and other similar installations. Although not strictly describable as "trackside", it also applies to relay room roller shutter kiosks.

This standard does not include maintenance to equipment housed within kiosks and boxes - for this reference shall be made to the appropriate engineering standards such as S2541 (E7159), Maintenance of Track Circuits.

The primary user of this standard shall be the Asset Steward.

This standard supersedes E7164 A3, which is withdrawn.

Purpose

This standard defines the minimum maintenance requirements for trackside kiosks and boxes containing equipment and cable terminations associated with signalling and signal control systems on London Underground.
