This standard applies to the parts of the railway for which London Underground (LU) is the Infrastructure Manager. In areas where other Train Operating Companies run on LU infrastructure, special considerations shall be given to any particular circumstances which may necessitate seeking concessions to the requirements of this standard.

This standard replaces E7203 A1, which is withdrawn.

Purpose

The purpose of this Standard is to define the requirements for visual information from the lineside signals, signs and indicators to Train Operators to aid them in their duties. It does not specify the requirements for platform repeaters as they are provided for use by station staff. 

This standard does not state the requirements for speed signage.
