La presente Norma riguarda le caratteristiche delle attrezzature di prova per la resistenza alla propagazione verticale della fiamma su un singolo cavo di energia, anche in fibra ottica, in condizioni di incendio. In particolare questa Norma specifica l'impiego di una fiamma premiscelata da 1 kW.
La presente Norma annulla e sostituisce la CEI EN 50265-2-1:1999, che rimane applicabile fino al 01-09-2007.
