scope:
Purpose. To establish the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff policy and guidance for the use of the Joint Training System (JTS) in planning, conducting, and assessing joint training effectiveness in promoting readiness and supporting the development of new joint capabilities. Training in the context of this instruction aligns with the Department of Defense Strategic Plan for the Next Generation of Training (reference a) and includes joint training, joint education (references b and c), and job-performance aiding.
Applicability. This CJCSI applies to the Combatant
Commands, Services, Reserve Components (RCs), the National Guard
Bureau (NGB), combat support agencies (CSAs) (including Defense
Intelligence Agency, Defense Information Systems Agency, Defense
Logistics Agency, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, National
