scope:
This standard deals with the drilling of holes, irrespective of their heading (orientation), in soil or rock, for the purposes of
- site and groundwater investigations, water extraction and discharge, ground water lowering, drainage, degasification, geothermal exploration;
- grouting (including jet grouting), constructing bored or grouted piles, constructing contiguous bored pile walls, including those for supporting and sealing;
- installing anchorages and other structural elements, probes and measuring equipment.
This standard also covers
- drilling in contaminated areas (cf. subclause 1.1);
- drilling work for the purposes of maintaining, repairing or decommissioning wells or ground water gauging stations;
- backfilling of boreholes to be abandoned.
This standard does not cover:
- borehole sinking operations (cf. DIN 18302);
- trenchless pipelaying (cf. DIN 18319).
DIN 18299 clauses 1 to 5 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, the latter shall take precedence.
