scope:

This standard deals with the laying of drains and sewers underground, including those passing under buildings, and the installation of associated manholes.

This standard does not cover

- the trenchwork associated with pipelaying and manhole construction (cf. DIN 18300);

- the support of trenches (cf. DIN 18303);

- laying of pressure pipework (cf. DIN 18307)

- trenchless pipelaying (cf. DIN 18319);

- the building of in situ concrete structures (cf. DIN 18331);

- the installation of drainage systems inside buildings (cf. DIN 18381);

- the laying of pipes passing through ductwork.

Clauses 1 to 5 of DIN 18299 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, the latter shall take precedence.
