This specification describes the requirements for a sprayable waterborne paint. It can be applied to, but is not limited to, such products as rear axles, prop shafts, non-braking surfaces of brake components and integral steering gears. It is suitable for spray application at room temperature (22°C) over steel, cast iron, cast aluminum and forgings.
This specification also describes the requirements for water based sprayable paint when heat related performance is needed. It is intended for components such as large rear truck axle assemblies that operate at higher temperatures and where cosmetic corrosion protection is needed.
