This standard specifies the requirement for the packaging of mechanical components to Military Levels P, N and J.
This standard covers only components with a minimum fragility factor of 100 gn and Primary Packaged Quantities (PPQ's) that are single, multiple, kits or sets, up to and including 5 kg mass.
Typical items covered by this standard are:
Brackets, bolts, bosses, bushes, caps, catches, cases, cleats, clips fasteners, collars, covers, decal transfers, gears, hand tools, leavers, nails, nuts, pins, plates, retaining rings, retaining bands, rings, rivets, screws, screw thread inserts, shafts, shims, spacers, spindles, springs, studs, tacks, washers and webbing straps.
