scope:

This INTERIM Standard specifies requirements for the military level packaging of mechanical components. It is applicable for Level L, Level P and Primary Standard requirements complying with Def Stan 81-41 and covers Primary Packaged Quantity (PPQ) up to 2 kg mass.

The following mechanical components are covered by this INTERIM Standard:

(a) bolts, screws, nuts, washers, screw thread inserts, pins, rivets, studs, bushes and spacers;

(b) collars;

(c) springs, eg helical, compression, torsion, extension and leaf;

(d) gears, eg spur, helical and worm;

(e) cleats, clips, catches, fasteners and retaining rings;

(f) brackets;

(g) shafts and spindles;

(h) plates, eg cover shield, instruction, wiring, modification, identification and label;

(i) decal and transfers;

(j) covers and cases.
