Purpose This regulation establishes Department of the Army (DA) policies, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the Army Reactor Program (ARP). The purpose of the ARP is to ensure that Army reactors are operated in a safe, secure, and reliable manner from activation through decommissioning. This regulation designates the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 (DCS, G-3/5/7) as the proponent for the ARP, and the U.S. Army Nuclear and Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction Agency (USANCA) as the focal point for the management of the ARP and the Army Reactor Office (ARO).

Applicability. This regulation applies to the Active Army, the Army National Guard/Army National Guard of the United States, and the U.S. Army Reserve, unless otherwise stated. It also applies to Department of the Army civilian employees. During mobilization, the proponent may modify the procedures in this publication to support policy changes as necessary
