This Standard specifies CV graphite cast irons.

NOTE: CV of CV graphite cast irons refers to C and V, which are capital letters of English name, "Compacted (vermicular) graphite cast irons".

This Standard is applicable to the test pieces machined from the samples of following a) to c).

a) Separately cast samples

b) Cast-on samples

c) Samples cut from a casting

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 16112: 2006 Compacted (vermicular) graphite cast irons-Classification (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
