scope:

This detail specification covers the requirements for the preparation of four (4) types of Flight Manuals, including Performance Data Appendix, Mission Crew Manuals, and Supplemental Manuals, and three (3) types of Abbreviated Flight Crew checklists, consisting of Classes 1, 2, and 3 for all types of aircraft. The following are included within the scope of coverage of this specification:

a. Air refueling procedures that are to be incorporated in the Flight Manuals and checklists. These requirements will provide flight crews with standard procedures and the data to engage in air refueling operations as dictated by mission requirements.

b. Appendices (see A through C) provide information for utilization of tagged language tools for the preparation of Flight Manual technical data to be delivered digitally to the government. These provisions are for the outputting of technical data in linear page-oriented or electronic presentation.
