scope:
This Standard applies to factory-made automatic ice-makers with a capacity between 23 and 1000 kg/d (measured at standard rating conditions). These machines produce cube, flake, crushed, or fragmented ice in either a batch or continuous process, as defined in Clause 2. They are electrically operated and designed for a 60 Hz operating current with nominal nameplate voltage. This Standard also applies to factory-made manual scoop-out ice storage bins.
This Standard covers definitions, performance, test procedures, and methods for determining energy and water consumption and storage effectiveness, and specifies maximum energy consumption and minimum storage effectiveness of units.
This Standard applies to selfcontained ice-makers which integrate the ice-making mechanism and storage compartment in one cabinet and to split system ice-makers which have the icemaking mechanism and condensing unit in separate sections. Condensers may be air-or water-cooled in either integral or split system type. Ice storage bins may be free-standing units or integral with the ice-maker.
This Standard does not apply to ice-makers installed in household refrigerators, refrigeratorfreezers
The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
