scope:

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Marshall Work Instruction (MWI) is to establish a program to ensure employees are provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and any other safety equipment necessary to guarantee their safety in the workplace. It provides supervisors and employees with instructions on how to assess hazards within the workplace and operations, and how to mitigate these hazards through the use of PPE and other safety equipment.

APPLICABILITY

This MWI shall apply to all Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) work areas and operations performed on MSFC owned or controlled property by MSFC employees and contractor employees supporting MSFC projects/programs. Identified hazards that cannot be effectively eliminated through engineering or administrative controls shall require the use of PPE and any other safety equipment necessary to guarantee a safe and healthful workplace.
