scope:
This standard applies to appliances for heating food and beverages in microwave ovens for household use, having a rated microwave frequency of 2 450 MHz. It also applies to ovens that incorporate both conventional (thermal energy) and microwave heating (microwave energy). This standard defines the main performance characteristics of household microwave ovens and specifies methods for measuring these characteristics, for the information of users.
