This standard specifies the frame structure for single or multiple B or HO channels or a single H11 or H12 channel in the end-to-end protocol for audiovisual teleservices, when connected by the pan-European Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) as provided by European Public Telecommunications operators, or by any other digital telecommunications network.
The use of this standard for end-to-end protocols for audiovisual teleservices is specified in prETS 300 143 [1].
A separate standard specifies the method of testing required to identify conformance to this standard.
This standard is applicable to terminal equipment and other equipment (e.g. interworking units, multipoint units) supporting audiovisual teleservices.
