Purpose.

To promote sharing of health care and other resources and define management responsibilities and procedures for administering support agreements. This is a complete revision and must be read in its entirety. The examples below will be referred to throughout this instruction as support agreements:

a. Memoranda of Agreement (MOA).

b. Memoranda of Understanding (MOU).

c. Intra/Interservice Support Agreements (ISSA).

d. Interagency Agreements (IAG).

e. Intragovernmental Support Agreements (IGSA).

Applies to Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) headquarters (HQ) and all activities within the BUMED Budget Submitting Office (BSO) (formerly referred to as claimancy).
