scope:
This standard specifies the commercial packaging of consumable stores when no Military Packaging Level or Code is stipulated, and requires a storage period that will not exceed one year in a temperate climate in frost free permanent buildings.
This standard covers the packaging of the following types of materiel that can be described as consumable or commonality items with a Primary Packaged Quantity (PPQ) of up to 5 kg. This list is not exhaustive:
a. bolts, screws, nails, washers, pins and rivets
b. grommets, gaskets and seals.
C. shafts spindles and collars.
d. helical, compression or torsion springs.
e. cleats, clips, fasteners and retaining rings.
f. resistors, transistors, diodes and capacitors.
g. terminals, lugs, contacts, caps, fuses and knobs.
h. cover, instruction or identification plates.
NOTE This standard does not cover the packaging of items identified as being electrostatic discharge sensitive devices.
