This Standard specifies the commercial packaging of consumable stores when no Military Packaging level or Agreed Industry Standard is stipulated and the required storage period is unlikely to exceed one year.
This Standard includes the packaging of the following types of material which may be described as consumable or commonality items. This list is not exhaustive and may be extended to items manufactured from any material:
(a) bolts, screws, nails, washers, pins and rivets.
(b) grommets, gaskets, and seals.
(c) shafts spindles and collars.
(d) helical, compression or torsion springs.
(e) cleats, clips, fasteners and retaining rings.
(f) resistors, transistors, diodes and capacitors.
(g) terminals, lugs, contacts, caps, fuses and knobs.
(h) cover, instruction or identification plates.
