Paper, Fully Bleached, Type QX

active, Most Current
Buy Now
Organization: MODUK
Publication Date: 14 April 2006
Status: active
Page Count: 12
scope:

This Standard specifies requirements for a fully bleached paper, available in two thicknesses, for use in ammunition components. It is intended for use with explosives, which contain ingredients (e.g. nitrophenolics) that may form highly sensitive lead compounds.

The designation 'Type QX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement.

However, compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established and Design Authorities should seek advice on particular applications from the Defence Logistics Organisation (DLO), Technical Enabling Service (TES), Defence Packaging Group, Policy Manager, Building S11, Fort Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN14 7BP.

Attention is drawn to Defence Standard 13-102, Testing of Materials which are required to be Compatible with Explosives.
