MODUK - DEF STAN 81-97
Paper, Pure, Bleached Type QX
| Organization: | MODUK |
| Publication Date: | 1 January 1991 |
| Status: | inactive |
| Page Count: | 14 |
scope:
This Standard specifies requirements for two types of pure bleached paper, each available in two thicknesses, both for use in ammunition components.
Type 1 - pure bleached paper
Type 2 - low lead pure bleached paper which is intended for use with explosives containing ingredients (eg nitrophenolics) which may form highly sensitive lead compounds.
The designation 'Type OX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement. However, compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established and Design Authorities should seek advice on particular applications from the Director, Royal Armament Research and Development Establishment, Waltham Abbey, Essex EN9 1AX.
Attention is drawn to Defence Standard 13-102 Testing of materials which are required to be compatible with explosives.
