This Standard gives a group of common requirements that apply, unless otherwise specified in a purchase order or in an individual standard, to structural quality steel plates, shapes, hollow sections, sheet, sheet piling, cold-formed channels, and bars conforming to the requirements of CSA Standard G40.21.
The values stated in either SI (metric) or yard/pound units are to be regarded as standard. Within the text, the yard/pound units are shown in parentheses. The values stated in each system are not exact equivalents; each system must be used independently. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the Standard.
