This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for expanded ethylene-vinyl acetate sheets and mouldings for use as resilient cushioning material for packaging and general industrial application. The material has a low water absorption and may be used outside a waterproof barrier. It does not stain silver. The material may be used within the temperature range -20° to + 50°C.

The load bearing characteristic of the material covered by this INTERIM Standard is as follows: Maximum static stress 4.0 kPa The material is cross-linked and can be thermoformed over a wide temperature range
