It is intended that this specification be invoked in its entirety in individual equipment (commodity) specifications for electric power equipment and electrical control equipment. This specification covers the basic requirements applicable to equipment intended for Naval shipboard use. Specifications for equipments of this type which have need for more restrictive requirements may supplement the individual requirements contained herein, as necessary, to meet that need.
